I scream, you scream, everyone screams for Gifford’s Ice Cream during the annual two-for-one closing weekend special. This weekend, Oct. 16-17, 2010, Gifford’s closes it five Maine ice cream stands and its 30th year in biz with its annual Buy One Get One Free clear-out-the-freezers event. The offer is valid for every ice cream purchased at its stands in Auburn, Farmington, Bangor, Waterville, and Skowhegan. Stands open at noon, and offer continues while supplies last.
So, how much ice cream did you folks consumer this season? According to the good folks at Gifford’s: More than 34,000 gallons of ice cream have been served at its Maine stands since they opened for the 2010 season in March of this year. Gifford’s ice cream stand fans this season enjoyed approximately 133,600 sugar cones, 154 gallons of cherries, 696 pounds of chocolate sprinkles, 745 pounds of rainbow sprinkles, and 630 pounds of nuts. In addition, more than 24,462 frappes and 3,061 banana splits were served at the company’s five Maine stands this season.
