Now you might not think about heading to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay in the dead of winter, but the monthly Kitchen Garden Dinner Series, featuring some of Maine’s top chefs preparing multi-course seasonal menus, is reason alone to brave the cold temperatures and deep snow. It’s wise to plan far in advance, as sell-outs occur; already, the June 22 event with Beard-winning chefs Mark Gaier and Clark Frasier, from Arrows, is sold out.

March 21: Chef Krista Kern Desjarlais, from Bresca , Portland
April 13: Chef Larry Matthews, from Back Bay Grill , Portland
May 10: Chef Cassady Pappas, from Havana South, Portland.
All dinners begin at 6 p.m.

Cost is $70 for CMBG members, $85 for nonmembers; fee includes meal, wine, tax, and gratuities.
