Attention all those who follow Portland’s highly regarded food scene: Steve and Michelle Corry have opened their new French bistro, Petite Jacqueline, on Longfellow Square, in the downtown Arts District. Chef Steve Corry, of highly acclaimed Five-Fifty-Five, has been in the foodie eye since being named a Food and Wine Best New Chef in 2007. This year, 2011, he was named Chef of the Year by the Maine Restaurant Association.
Not only is it open, but Petite Jacqueline is also participating in Maine Restaurant Week, which is happening right now. It’s offering a three-course menu for $30. I’d highly recommend making reservations: This place is on every Maine foodie’s must-go list.
If you manage to snag a table, please report back on your experience. It’ll be a while before I get there, and I’m really liking what I see on the sample menu (posted here, click on it to increase size). Since I have the good fortune of having just returned from Paris (France, not Maine), I’m eager to rekindle the tastes I experienced there, and this menu is activating my salivary glands.
