Ho, ho, ho: Santa has rewarded Maine’s Skiers, riders, and snow lovers. A three-day storm has buried western Maine in 14 to more than 30 inches of often snow. And get this: It’s still snowing.
Sure other regions received some new snow, but check out these stats: As of this morning, Sugarloaf and Saddleback are closing in on three feet and Sunday River and Mt. Abram were reporting 14 inches. Add that to the snowmaking base, and the conditions should be primo for the holiday week. And nordic enthusiasts can ski or snowshoe into Maine Huts & Trails new Stratton Brook Hut and continue on to the other huts.
