Crocuses may be blooming in your yard, but it’s still full-on winter here at Sugarloaf, in Carrabasett Valley. I took a few runs this morning, and conditions are excellent. There’s a hint of spring, thanks to warm sunshine and moderate temps, but we’re a long way from slush on the slopes. Not only that, but the entire mountain is open, including the Bracket Basin glades. That should give you an idea of just how much natural snow is still on the ground. I’m told conditions are similar at Saddleback. I’ll give you a first-hand report from Sunday River next week (by the way, the Dumont Cup is on at Sunday River this weekend).
