Wow, just wow! Don’t miss Gardens Aglow, the annual holiday light extravaganza at the Maine Coastal Botanical Gardens in Boothbay. I went last night, and I’m already plotting my return. Yes, it’s that spectacular. Great for all ages, and the gardens are accessible to strollers and wheelchairs.
Maine’s biggest and brightest light show uses more than 360,000 (!) lights to illuminate the gardens and woodlands. In addition, view designer fairy houses, order slabs of pizza at the onsite Crust truck, toast marshmallows at the s’mores pit, and sip hot chocolate while you meander or dine in at the Kitchen Garden Cafe.
Gardens Aglow continues Thursday-Sunday, 4-9pm, through Dec. 31 (closed Dec. 24). Tickets, available online, are $12 adults, $10 seniors, $6 kids ages 3-17, or $30/family comprising two adults and two kids (tix cost more on site). For info on shuttles and carpooling, check the website. Wheelchairs and scooters are available.
