Flemish foods, Belgian beers: A real Maine brewhaha in Lovell

Ebenezer’s Pub, in Lovell, Maine, kicks off its annual Belgian Beer Festival on Thursday, Aug. 19, with a six-hour, 12-course Flemish dinner with Belgian beer pairings. Seating for Homebrew Chef Sean Paxton’s feast is limited to 100 and the cost (gulp) is $295 pp. Yeah, you read that right. But c’mon, six hours? Twelve courses? Rare brews? If you’re a beer aficionado, this has your name all over it.

Too rich for your blood? Then skip the feast and simply show up for the Belgian Beer Festival, Friday Aug. 20 through Sunday, Aug. 29. As in previous years, “camping is allowed and encouraged.”
