Savor a taste of Italy in Maine at the Italian Life Expo in Portland

If you can’t get to Italy, well it’s coming to Maine. The Italian Life Expo is bringing a taste of the Old Country to Portland’s Ocean Gateway, June 9-11, 2011. Vintners, food producers, chefs, travel specialists, and artisans from Tuscany, Piemonte, Brescia, Friuli, Emilia-Romagna and other locales will be offering tastings, demonstrations, and educational programs.

The expo, yet another tasty-oriented event in America’s foodiest small town, opens with an evening reception on Thursday, June 9, celebrating the 150th anniversary of a unified Italy. Tickets are $50 and supply is limited. Six sessions over the next two days highlight Italian foods, wines, and travel, along with products and services. Each session costs $35 (or $90 per day).

Tickets are available online. Event proceeds benefit the educational programs at The Spannocchia Foundation and the Institute for Italian Studies

  1. This event even includes some of our favorite Portland area chefs as “Mangiamo Partners” That means “let’s eat!” who will be adding their taste treats to each session. Plus some great door prizes.

  2. I would love to attend this…and I would also like to know how or if I could display my Homemade Italian Cookies. Any info. would be helpful. Please contact me on my e-mail. Thank You, Annemarie D’Alfonso-DiMillo
