Skowhegan Moose Festival celebrates Maine’s gangly beast

Be part of a Guinness World Record effort for the most people simultaneously calling moose at the Skowhegan Moose Festival, June 8-10, 2018. The three-day festival includes family friendly live entertainment, a Phil Vassar opening act, a Bryan White concert, a wild game and craft beer pairing and tasting, moose-on-the-loose bed races, and demonstrations by the Axe Women Loggers of Maine. Admission and most events are free.

Winners of the Maine moose-permit lottery will be drawn on Saturday afternoon following the Guinness group moose call.

Sunday kicks off with a breakfast featuring locally sourced ingredients ($10 adults, $5 ages 12 and younger).

Other activities include raffles for major prizes, a children’s moose-calling competition, Moose-Mainea monster truck rides ($5), and hunting and fishing-related activities.
